Labouring woman in birthing pool supported by doula

I believe every family deserves a birth experience that aligns with their wishes and values. As a dedicated doula and hypnobirthing practitioner, I am deeply passionate about empowering expectant parents with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate the transformative journey of labour and birth.

I am committed to providing families with access to evidence-based information, enabling you to make informed decisions throughout your birthing experience. I understand the importance of feeling empowered and supported during this pivotal time, and am here to provide compassionate guidance every step of the way.

Whether you're seeking antenatal education, personalised support in the postpartum period, or interested in incorporating hypnobirthing techniques for a more relaxed and empowering birth, my services can be tailored to meet your unique needs.

Mothers need just as much attention as a newborn, for they too have just been born.

The word 'Doula' comes from the Greek language meaning 'woman's servant'

At our core, Doulas provide emotional, physical, and holistic support for women and their families during pregnancy, labour and the postpartum period. We are dedicated to ensuring you are advocated for and listened to as you transition into parenthood.

A Doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to individuals and families before, during, and after childbirth. Unlike medical professionals such as doctors or midwives, Doulas do not provide medical care or clinical interventions. Instead, we focus on nurturing and advocating for the birthing person's well-being, ensuring you feel supported and empowered throughout the entire birthing process.

During pregnancy, a Doula offers personalised education and guidance, helping expectant parents understand your options and create birth plans that reflect your preferences.

During labour, Doulas provide continuous emotional support, offering comfort measures such as massage, breathing techniques, and positioning suggestions to ease discomfort and promote relaxation. We also act as advocates, ensuring the birthing person's wishes are respected and facilitating communication with medical staff.

After childbirth, Doulas continue to offer support, assisting with breastfeeding, newborn care, and processing the birth experience. Our presence can significantly reduce stress and anxiety, leading to more positive birth outcomes and a smoother transition into parenthood.

Ultimately, Doulas play a crucial role in fostering a sense of empowerment, confidence, and connection for individuals and families as you navigate the profound journey of childbirth.

What is a Mentored Doula?

Having completed my training with Developing Doulas, I am now working as a Mentored Doula whilst I transition to become a Recognised Doula with Doula UK.

This means I am supported by an experienced Doula, in contact with them whilst providing my services to you, ensuring that you receive not only my wealth of knowledge but theirs too.
